Tammy feel free to give me a call at 339-0370 so i can answer any questions you have. I am the mom of two boys who race. I personally am more nervous having my boys ride their bikes on the road in this valley than at the track. I understand how you feel though. Membership is $58 for 12 months which includes insurance and a monthly subscription to the bmxer magazine. The best way to get started is to bring your son out to a practise to try or to just start riding the track. We will have updated information on the website soon hopefully. First practise is april 27th at 6pm. We will be holding learn to ride clinics. We have a few loaner bikes at the track and it is possible to pick up a good used bmx race bike. We will be having a bike swap early in the season. We learned as we went along so please give me a call if i can answer any more questions.

We would like to enrol our son Wren (who is 5, almost) into a rider program of some sort. He's been on a two wheeler for over a year... is there a "learn to race" program? We would love to swing by the track to check it out - when are you open?

Sorry for the short notice but we just got everything underway for the event, however, we are having our "Famous Salmon BBQ" and 25 year Anniversary celebration at the Nanaimo BMX track on Aug 15, 2009...please let your members know...2:00 registration starts and then festivities to follow the races...we are providing hot dogs, burgers, Salmon and cake...the dinner is pot luck so if you could remind your members to bring a dish and their deck chair...
